Kota: A teenage girl from a tribal community was repeatedly raped for over a year allegedly by her neighbor, who later gave her abortion pills to abort her pregnancy. Jhalawadi district of Rajasthan Rajasthan, police said on Monday.
While the girl’s family has claimed that she is above 18 years, the police are trying to ascertain her exact age and accordingly sections of the POCSO Act may be included in the case, an official said.
Notice of incident. From Mandawar Police The police station area of Jhalawar district came to light on Saturday after the girl complained of abdominal pain and was taken to a local hospital where doctors found that she was six months pregnant.
However, the fetus had died due to the abortion pills given by the accused to cover up the crime, the Deputy Superintendent of Police and Circle Officer Rajiv Parihar said.
The girl’s family members have filed charges against Dawood under sections 376 (rape), 313 (causing abortion without consent of woman), 315 (act done with intent to prevent child from being born alive or to cause death after birth) ) was registered. The officer said that no arrest has been made yet under the IPC and the SC/ST Act.
He said the girl from the Bhil community was recovering in the hospital and her condition was stated to be out of danger.
