Dotasara was recently in the news for irregularities in the selection of two of his relatives in the State Administrative Services (RAS). In July this year, it was alleged that the minister was behind the selection of his daughter-in-law and her brother and sister in the RAS exam.

However, Dotasara had said that the examination for selection to the Rajasthan Administrative Service is conducted in a transparent manner and only capable children are successful in it.
