Rajasthan: Man, daughter among 3 killed in Baran SUV accident | Jaipur News – Times of India

KOTA: Three persons including a father-daughter duo were killed and nine others including two women and a 15-year old boy were injured after an SUV carrying 12 people overturned on NH 27 near Mamuni village in Baran district on Wednesday.
According to Shahabad SHO Ranjeet Singh, at least 11 members of a family from Kota and the driver were traveling to Jhansi in an SUV to attend a wedding function on Wednesday noon. At around 2.30 PM, the SUV, the driver lost control and overturned after colliding with a divider on NH – 27 near Mamuni village.
The three persons, identified as Bablu Singh (50), his daughter Monika (19) and driver Mahendra Mali (25), residents of Ladpura, Kota sustained critical injuries in the mishap. They were immediately hastened to a local hospital, where they succumbed to injuries soon after, he added.
Three critically injured were referred to Kota while other four are under treatment at a hospital in Baran, the SHO said. Two other women of the family escaped unhurt in the mishap, he added.
He further said that initial inquiry revealed that the driver of the SUV lost control over the steering in an attempt to avoid hitting stray cattle that suddenly came in front of the vehicle. The SUV took around 3 overturns after colliding with the divider on the road.
The family members refused for the post-mortem of the deceased in Baran following which they were sent to their native in Kota, he added. TNN
