Rajasthan: International drug racket busted; A smuggler arrested with 5 kg charas. Jaipur News – Times of India

Jaipur: The crime branch Crime Investigation Department (CB-CID) Wing Rajasthan Rajasthan Police – With the help of Jaipur Police busted an international drug racket on Thursday and arrested a smuggler with 5 kg of charas, which is worth around Rs 1 crore in the international market.
The haul – which was smuggled into India via Pakistan via Anantnag (Jammu) – was to be delivered to Ajmer.
It reached Amritsar via Anantnag and then to Jaipur.
Additional Director General (Crime) Ravi Prakash Mehrda told that the crime branch is keeping an eye on the active smugglers in Rajasthan.
“We had some vague inputs that were developed by our team and it was found that a person identified as Arif Ali was bringing charas. Rajasthan Rajasthan and will take it to Ajmer. We got success when the accused was found in illegal possession with 5 kg charas while traveling in a bus.
CID-CB Deputy Superintendent of Police Pushpendra said, “We found that accused Arif Ali got this consignment of narcotics from Baseer, a drug smuggler operating in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir.”
“It was found that Arif has been in constant contact with Bashir and had earlier brought narcotics to Rajasthan. He has been caught for the first time. It appears that the smugglers from Pakistan through their men in Kashmir as well as Punjab We are also looking for Rajasthan to be their easy target in drug trafficking,” he said.
Meanwhile, in the evening, the Crime Branch with the help of Punjab Police took Bashir into custody when he was on his way from Amritsar to Kashmir in a bus.
“Our team will bring Bashir to Jaipur. We will interrogate Bashir and Arif.”
Crime Branch team camping in Amritsar is in touch with Punjab Police to take Bashir into custody.
