Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday accused Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat of being involved in the alleged Sanjivani Credit Cooperative Society scam, saying his involvement has been proved in the police investigation.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday accused Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat of being involved in the alleged Sanjivani Credit Cooperative Society scam, saying his involvement has been proved in the police investigation.

His remarks come a day after Shekhawat accused Gehlot of indulging in character assassination out of desperation after the Congress leader’s son was defeated in the last Lok Sabha election.

Gehlot said Shekhawat was trying to mislead the public in the case, while the Special Operations Group (SOG) like other arrested accused had also shown their involvement in the case.

“He himself knows this very well. He knows that Sanjeevani Credit Cooperative Society has looted the life time deposits of over one lakh victims, amounting to over Rs 900 crore.

In a tweet, Gehlot said, “In this case, the power to attach property rests with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and not the SOG.”

Gehlot said that the SOG has requested the ED five times in the last two years to attach properties related to the Sanjivani Credit Cooperative Society.
