Rajasthan cabinet reshuffle: ‘No faction in party, fight against BJP together’, says Pilot

New Delhi: Hours before the swearing-in of new cabinet ministers in Rajasthan, Congress leader Sachin Pilot addressed a press conference and said he was glad that his concerns were addressed and the party took positive steps for better governance in the state. Huh.

15 ministers will take oath to join the Ashok Gehlot cabinet today and 5 ministers have also been included from Sachin Pilot’s camp. Sachin Pilot further said that the entire party is united now and is ready for the elections to be held in the state after two years. Clarifying about the differences between himself and Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, Pilot said that they are together in the fight against a common enemy BJP and the Congress party is focused on the same.

He said, “We are talking about principles here… Everyone’s opinion matters. I am glad that the concerns have been addressed. Change is constant. But this step (huge reform) is what motivates people,” he said. We will win the 2023 elections.” from reporters.

When asked about his loyalists being made ministers, he said, “You guys (media) keep painting it as a fight between two groups. We are all working together under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Party workers are working together. Against a common enemy BJP. There is no faction in the party. Decisions (of cabinet reshuffle) have been taken together.”

Focusing on the inclusion of 4 Dalit ministers in the Gehlot cabinet, Pilot said, “The new cabinet includes 4 Dalit ministers. This is a message that AICC, the state government and the party want representation for Dalits, backward and poor. For a long time, there was no Dalit representation in our government, now it has been compensated and they have been inducted in good numbers.”

Pilot said representation of tribals has also been included and this is a necessary step which has been taken forward by the Congress and the state government. He also said that the representation of women has also been increased as they are an important part of running the government.

Among the new ministers to take oath as cabinet ministers are Hemaram Chaudhary, Mahendrajit Singh Malviya, Ramlal Jat, Mahesh Joshi, Vishvendra Singh, Ramesh Meena, Mamta Bhupesh Bhairwa, Bhajanlal Jatav, Tikaram Juli, Govind Ram Meghwal, and Shakuntala Rawat.

Those from the Sachin Pilot camp who have been inducted into the ministry are Vishvendra Singh, Ramesh Meena and Hemaram Choudhary as cabinet ministers, besides Brijendra Ola and Murari Meena as ministers of state.

Two of them – Vishvendra Singh and Ramesh Meena – were sacked as cabinet ministers last year during a political crisis in the state.

The three scheduled caste ministers who have been promoted to cabinet rank are Bhajanlal Jatav, Mamta Bhupesh Bhairwa and Tikaram Julie.

Another SC member, former MP Govind Ram Meghwal, is a new face to join the renewed cabinet.
