Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra had a rough time last year when the businessman was detained in a case related to production of pornographic films. Raj was in police custody for a long time and has remained a low profile since his release from jail. Shilpa and Raj recently hit the headlines when they were spotted hand-in-hand at their sister Shamita Shetty’s birthday party. And now they are back to attract everyone’s attention, this time for reasons involving the businessman’s wealth.
According to papers obtained by Zapkey.com, Raj Kundra has reportedly transferred the ownership of his real estate properties and Juhu mansion to his wife Shilpa Shetty, ETimes said. According to the report of Zapkey.com, the businessman has given assets worth Rs 38.5 crore to his wife. According to reports, Kundra has shifted the entire first floor of a building consisting of five flats as well as the Juhu sea-facing bungalow in his wife’s name. Stamp tax of Rs 1.9 crore was also paid on the transfer document of the 5,995 sq ft house. As per reports, the transfer was assessed at the current market cost, which is believed to be Rs 65,000 per sq ft. The documents were reportedly registered on January 21.
Last year, Raj was arrested for creating obscene material and distributing and publishing them on various sites. However, in December, the businessman issued a statement on social media claiming that there was no evidence of him “ever” being involved in the production and distribution of porn material. Shilpa also asked everyone to respect their privacy during their tough times. This property gets transferred only after six months of the complete uproar.
On the work front, Shilpa appeared as a judge in Super Dancer alongside Geeta Kapoor and director Anurag Basu. Shilpa is currently a co-judge on Sony TV’s India’s Got Talent along with Kirron Kher and rapper Badshah. She will be seen in Nikamma alongside Abhimanyu Dassani, Shirley Setia and Sunil Grover.
