Jaipur: The final phase of the Southwest Monsoon is on, which has brought a wave of happiness for the farmers. “The average monsoon rainfall in Rajasthan is 512.96 mm. Though till Thursday this year, the state has received an average of 549.94 mm of rain, which is about 7.2% more than the average,” said an official of Jaipur Met Office.

While it was expected that the southwest monsoon would return from September 16, the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi announced an extension till September 27. “It turned out to be a gamechanger as earlier around 9 districts were in the deficient rainfall category. just now Sirohi And Sriganganagar The districts have been left with the tag of losses. There will be some rain in these two districts also and they will fall in the category of normal rains. As far as Jaipur is concerned, it received 553.43 mm of rain till Thursday, as against the normal average of 495.10 mm. “This means that the city has received about 11% more rain than last year,” a meteorological department official said.
In Sriganganagar, only 114.42 mm has been obtained, which is 42.8% more than the normal. Meanwhile, in many areas Banswara Dungarpur and Dungarpur were submerged due to the opening of the gate of Mahi Dam (Banswara). Jaipur Meteorological Department has said in its forecast that Kota, Udaipur and Jaipur divisions will receive heavy to moderate rain, while Jodhpur division will receive light rain in the next few days.
