There is good news for the passengers traveling in Indian Railways. Now soon other facilities including food in trains can start as soon as before. The meeting of the Passenger Facilitation Committee is going to be held in the next few days. There can be many big decisions regarding passenger convenience in this. Catering service has been banned since the first wave of corona in trains. After about 18 months, it can be considered to start it again.

You will be able to take food from the pantry by paying as before
These facilities for eating in trains will be same as before. For this, passengers will not have to make any separate booking. In premium trains, the facility of food will be available along with the ticket. Whereas in other trains, passengers will be able to take food from the pantry by paying as before.

Passenger Facilitation Committee meeting soon
According to sources associated with IRCTC, the meeting of the Passenger Facilitation Committee is to be held with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav by October 25 or 26. In this, there will be a discussion about resuming other services including food. Decision can be taken in this meeting to start railway base kitchen, on board catering service. A presentation has also been given to the department and the ministry regarding the resumption of this service.

Rs 1000 crore income to IRCTC from catering
In view of the convenience of the passengers traveling during the Corona period, IRCTC started providing ready-to-eat food in trains on the instructions of the Railway Board. But most of the passengers were not liking the ready to eat food. Whose complaints have also been received by IRCTC many times. IRCTC has its core business of catering and tourism. IRCTC gets around Rs 1000 crore from catering.

IRCTC provides on-catering service in trains. These include 19 Rajdhani, 2 Tejas, 1 Gatimaan, 1 Vande Bharat, 22 Shatabdi, 19 Duronto and 296 Mail and Express trains.
