On Pegasus espionage case

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has called the opposition leaders for breakfast this morning. Not only will he try to keep the opposition together with the help of breakfast politics, he will also prepare a strategy for the government’s siege in Parliament on issues like the Pegasus espionage scandal.

Sources said that Rahul has called leaders of 14 opposition parties for a meeting at the Constitution Club in Delhi. Congress MPs from both the houses can also be present in it. During this, all the leaders will discuss ways to increase pressure on the government regarding the issues being raised in the House.

Invitation to opposition leaders of both houses
Leaders of 14 parties including Left parties, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, Trinamool Congress, DMK, Nationalist Congress Party, Shiv Sena, Aam Aadmi Party, Muslim League and National Conference are likely to be present in Rahul’s meeting. Invitations have also been sent to opposition leaders in both the houses.

However, how many parties are involved in this breakfast meeting, everyone’s eyes will be on it. Opposition parties have been pressing for adjournment in both houses of Parliament over their demands, including an investigation into allegations of spyware spying. The session of Parliament began on July 19 and will end on August 13.

Trying to be the face of the opposition
Sources said the Left parties have proposed running a fake Parliament as a way to register a protest against the government. However, not all opposition parties agree on this. This can be discussed in the meeting. Opposition parties are calling for a court-monitored investigation into allegations of espionage with the help of Pegasus spyware. At the same time, the government has rejected the allegations of the opposition.

The opposition parties also held a meeting last week on this issue. Rahul Gandhi was also present in it. Later a statement was also issued by the opposition leaders. Rahul Gandhi has been aggressive on the Pegasus issue since the beginning. Breakfast politics is being seen as an exercise to emerge as the face of his opposition. Last week, Rahul reached Parliament by tractor in support of farmers’ demand for repeal of three agricultural laws.

Had met Mamta last week

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was on a Delhi visit last week. During this he met Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi at her residence 10 Janpath. Rahul Gandhi was also present in the meeting. After the meeting, Mamta had said that we discussed the political situation, the situation of Pegasus and Corona and the unity of the opposition. I think it will bring positive results in future.

On leadership, Mamta had said that if another face comes from the opposition side, then I have no problem. When the matter is discussed, we will decide on it. I don’t want to be a leader, but want to work as an ordinary cadre.
