Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra In Delhi Amid BJP vs Congress Over Covid

Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra led by party MP Rahul Gandhi entered Delhi this morning amid Health Minister’s call to follow Covid protocols.

Delhi Congress chief Anil Chowdhary welcomes Rahul Gandhi and other party leaders yatris At Badarpur border when he entered the national capital from Faridabad amidst slogans of “Rahul Zindabad”.

Several party leaders, including Jairam Ramesh, Pawan Khera, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Kumari Selja and Randeep Surjewala were seen marching along with Mr Gandhi.

Later former Congress president Sonia Gandhi also joined her son.

Addressing party workers and leaders, he reiterated that the purpose of his visit was to open a ‘shop of love’ the one in between (shop of love) ‘Bazaar of hatred’ (Hate Market).

“The common man of the country is now talking about love. Lakhs of people have joined the yatra in every state. I have told the people of RSS and BJP that we have come here to open your love shop.”Market’ hate,” Mr. Gandhi said.

“They (BJP, RSS) spread hatred, we (Congress) spread love,” he said.

Earlier, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had written to Rahul Gandhi asking him to ensure Covid “protocols” are followed during Bharat Jodo Yatra.

In his clapback, Mr Gandhi cited PM Narendra Modi’s recent election campaign in Gujarat and the BJP’s “Jan Aakrosh Yatra” in Rajasthan. “The BJP is taking out yatras in various states. But the health minister is only sending letters to us,” he said.

The Congress had alleged that the BJP wanted to stop Mr. Gandhi journey Because it is scared of the love the Bharat Jodo Yatra has received.

Today’s yatra will stop at Ashram Chowk at 11 am and start the yatra at 1 pm. It will end at Red Fort via Mathura Road, India Gate and ITO.

Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory asking commuters to avoid certain routes and make “maximum use” of public transport. The advisory states that traffic from Badarpur to Red Fort is likely to be heavy.

“The roads will have graded and dynamic diversion to ensure smooth traffic management while ensuring safety of pedestrians and for the convenience of commuters,” the advisory said.

The yatra, which completed 100 days on December 16, will take a nine-day break at the end of the year and will start again from Delhi on January 3.
