The former Congress president also accused Modi of “directly insulting” him in the Lok Sabha in a no-holds-barred attack on the PM.

Launching a scathing attack on the Prime Minister over his alleged links with Congress leader Gautam Adani Rahul Gandhi “Thinks he is very powerful, but he doesn’t realize that the last thing I fear is Narendra Modi,” the PM said on Monday.

The former Congress president also accused Modi of “directly insulting” him in the Lok Sabha in a no-holds-barred attack on the PM.

“He says why is your name Gandhi and not Nehru. So the Prime Minister of the country directly insults me. But his words were not removed from the record,” Gandhi said while criticizing the decision to expunge parts of his speech linking the prime minister with Adani.

Recalling a speech he had made in Parliament recently, in which he had raised some issues related to the Hindenburg Report on Adani group companies, Gandhi, while addressing a public meeting in his constituency, asked him to show evidence. He was asked for what he had done. But the Prime Minister will be forced to face the force of truth.

“All you had to do was look at my face when I was speaking (in the Lok Sabha) and look at his (Modi) face when he was speaking. See how many times he drank water, how his hands were shaking while he was drinking water and you will understand everything,” the Wayanad MP said.

Criticizing the decision to delete his speech during the debate in the Lok Sabha on the motion of thanks on the President’s address, he said, “I have written to the speaker in support of every single point and evidence he has deleted.” In his speech in the lower house, he did not use any bad or abusive words but pointed out the link between Modi and Adani.

Addressing the gathering, the Congress leader said, “After my speech, most of it (the speech) was edited and was not allowed to go on record in Parliament… I do not expect my words to be recorded.” But will be allowed to go.” Here in Meenangadi.

The Congress leader hit out at Modi during his first visit to his Lok Sabha constituency after successfully completing the nearly 4,000 km ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

Sharpening his attacks on the PM’s alleged link with Adani, he said, “Modi thinks he is very powerful and people will be scared of him. They don’t realize that the last thing I fear is Narendra Modi.”

“It does not matter whether he is the Prime Minister of India, whether he has all the (investigating) agencies… because the truth is not on his side. And one day, he will be forced to face his reality”, the Wayanad MP said.

He urged Congress workers to watch his speech in the Lok Sabha as it is important to understand what is going on in the country and the “nexus between the Prime Minister and Adani”.

The former Congress chief alleged that Adani had risen from 609th position in 2014 to the second richest businessman in the world.

“I asked the Prime Minister some questions. I asked him about his relationship with Mr. Adani. I asked him how Adani has grown so fast. The Prime Minister did not answer a single question. His response to my questions was why are you not called Nehru, why are you called Gandhi.” He also responded to the Prime Minister’s recent attack on the Gandhi family, questioning whether any of them had served as India’s first president. Why not use the name “Nehru” to honor Jawaharlal Nehru, the Prime Minister and great-grandfather of Rahul.

The Wayanad MP, who is the son of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, said, “Because, generally, I don’t know, maybe Mr. Modi doesn’t understand it but generally India Our surname is our father’s surname.”
