The pre-release business of Telugu movies is booming with every passing year as the industry is expanding to a pan-India level. However, the fact that the pre-release business for Tollywood films has increased dramatically after the stellar performance of Prabhas’ Baahubali cannot be ignored. Now, Prabhas’s long-awaited film Radhe Shyam is set to hit the theaters globally on Friday. It was said that the film had a record pre-release business.
According to andhraboxoffice.com, the theatrical rights of the film have been sold for around Rs 210 crore. More than Rs 100 crore has been received through the sale of distribution rights in Telugu states. Considering the pan-India fame of Prabhas after Baahubali, the film is anticipated to make a huge debut in various regions of the country. Meanwhile, it is expected that the film will completely rule the cinema halls of the Telugu states.
Apart from this, the much awaited film Bhimla Nayak starring Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati has also garnered a lot of attention. The film, which released on February 24, had a high level of anticipation, as seen by the huge pre-release trade of Bhimla Nayak.
The film earned 109.50 crores in total pre-release revenue globally. Sagar’s Chandra starring Bhimla Nayak, was written by Trivikram Srinivas.
However, it was SS Rajamouli’s RRR that grabbed all the records. RRR starring Mega Power Star Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran is one of the much awaited movies of India. The film RRR, slated to hit the theaters on October 13, has already broken records with pre-release sales of Rs 900 crore.
As per the most recent update, the global theater rights for RRR were acquired for Rs 570 crore, while the digital and satellite rights were bought for Rs 300 crore. The music rights were acquired for Rs 20 crore, while theatrical rights for Andhra and Nizam were sold for Rs 240 crore.
Meanwhile, Radhe Shyam is gearing up for a theatrical pan-India release on March 11. The film is helmed by Radha Krishna Kumar, and will feature Pooja Hegde in the lead role.
