R Madhavan’s son Vedant sets new swimming record, father’s reaction – see

Indian film star R Madhavan’s son Vedant Madhavan rewrote the national record in the 1500m freestyle event for Group I boys at the ongoing 48th Junior National Aquatic Championships at the Biju Patnaik Swimming Pool at the prestigious Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. Leading the pack with good pace and an efficient stroke, Vedant clocked 16:01.73 to erase his state mate Advait Page’s record of 16:06.43 seconds, set in the year 2017. He defeated Amogh Anand Venkatesh of Karnataka, who clocked 16:21.98 seconds. and Shubhojit Gupta of Bengal who won the bronze medal by touching the pad at 16:34.06.

In the 400m freestyle for Group II girls, Harshika Ramachandra of Karnataka set a new meet record with a timing of 4:29.25 seconds, while Rujula S of Karnataka also won the silver with a timing of 4:39.53sec from Harshika. Compromised. Harshika set another meet record in the 200m butterfly event. She won the gold medal beating Apeksha Fernandes’ three-year-old record of 2:23.67. Harshika clocked 2:23.20 to finish ahead of Tanishi Gupta of Karnataka who clocked 2:28.54 and Mokshita Adanki of Telangana.

Another record was set for the girls’ Group I in the 50m breast stroke event. Fernandes continued to shine by winning his second gold medal than Maharashtra. She clocked an impressive 33.49 seconds to clinch the gold medal with a timing of 35.91 seconds over her state’s Zara Jabbar.

At the end of the second day, Karnataka led the medal tally with a total of 31 medals, followed by Maharashtra with 17 medals and Telangana with a total of 8 medals.
