Pushpa 2 will hit theatres on August 15, 2024.
Last month, another report by Siasat claimed the makers of Pushpa 2 are reportedly demanding a staggering Rs 1,000 crores for the theatrical rights deal for all languages.
Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule is one of the biggest movies of the year and there is no doubt about it. While fans are eagerly waiting for the Sukumar directorial, it has now been revealed that the film has sold its theatrical rights in North India for Rs 200 crore.
As reported by Pinkvilla, the theatrical rights for Pushpa 2 have been acquired by Anil Thadani on an advance basis for Rs 200 crore. “Pushpa 2 is the most awaited Indian Film of the year and the records have come down crashing left – right – center as far as the pre-release business is concerned. Anil Thadani has paid Rs 200 crore (on an advance basis) to acquire the theatrical rights of this action-packed entertainer directed by Sukumar,” a source cited by the entertainment portal claimed.
Last month, another report by Siasat claimed the makers are reportedly demanding a staggering Rs 1,000 crores or more for the theatrical rights deal for all languages. The report further suggested the film is expected to outperform SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which grossed a whopping Rs 900 crores in theatrical rights.
Released in 2021, Pushpa: The Rise was written and directed by Sukumar. The film turned out to be a blockbuster and ruled the box office. The last leg of shooting for Pushpa 2 is currently underway. The teaser of the film was released recently in which Allu Arjun was seen dressed in a saree with his face painted in shades of blue and red. He also sported makeup with heavy traditional gold and flower jewellery. He was seen beating up goons.
Besides Allu Arjun, Pushpa 2 also stars Rashmika Mandanna in the lead. Previously, Rashmika talked about the much-awaited film when she promised that it would be “bigger” than ever. “I can promise you that Pushpa 2 is going to be so much bigger. We gave some madness in the first film, in part 2, we know we have a responsibility because people have so much expectation from the film. We are constantly and consciously trying to deliver that,” she told Pinkvilla.
Pushpa 2: The Rule might also feature Samantha Ruth Prabhu in a cameo. Sanjay Dutt is also likely to make a special appearance in the movie. The film will hit theatres on August 15, 2024.
