Sultanpur : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Tuesday Purvanchal Expressway It will become the lifeline of development in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
On the occasion of the inauguration of the expressway, the Chief Minister said, “The work of Purvanchal Expressway was completed in three years amid the Kovid-19 epidemic. This will become the lifeline of development of Eastern UP. Greetings to the people of Purvanchal. ,
The CM said that the focus is on holistic and inclusive ‘development’ across the state as part of a larger growth spurt.
“From the Kanpur Metro to the new airport in Kushinagar, other major infrastructure projects are in the pipeline,” he said.
He further said that this is the development path of ‘New India’ under the leadership of the Prime Minister. Narendra Modi,
“Work is going on to connect Bundelkhand with a new expressway. The work of Ganga Expressway to connect western Uttar Pradesh with eastern Uttar Pradesh is going to start. By next month, the metro system of Kanpur will also open. A new one in five years Metro facility was provided under the guidance of PM and transport facilities have also been upgraded in the state.
He further said that till 2017 there were only Lucknow and Varanasi airports, but today nine airports are fully functional in the state and work on 11 new airports is underway.
The Chief Minister further said, “Eastern Uttar Pradesh has been continuously neglected since independence. Now this Purvanchal Expressway will prove to be an important step in the development of Eastern Uttar Pradesh.”

The 341 km long Purvanchal Expressway starts from the village Chaudasarai, District Lucknow is situated on Lucknow-Sultanpur road (NH-731) and ends at village Hydaria situated on National Highway No. 31, 18 km east of Uttar Pradesh-Bihar border.
The major feature of the expressway is the 3.2 km long runway which enables landing and landing of fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force in case of emergency.
The expressway is 6-lane wide which may be expanded to 8-lane in future. Built at an estimated cost of around Rs 22,500 crore, the Purvanchal Expressway is set to boost the economic development of the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh especially the districts of Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar.
