Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi on Monday said Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal should not take Punjabis lightly and understand that they are capable of leading their state and do not need “outsiders” like him. Is. Channi said this during his visit to Rohno Kalan village near Khanna, where he inaugurated a sports park and a panchayat building, an official statement said.

“Proud Punjabis will never allow an outsider like Kejriwal to rule over them,” he said. Channi said that his government was implementing the agenda of the common man while people like Kejriwal were promising moon to the people of Punjab instead of working for the betterment of the common man in Delhi.

He said, “Kejriwal is the best at spreading lies in front of the people of Punjab. “It is the same Kejriwal who, before the 2017 Punjab Assembly elections, had given a guarantee that he would put (SAD leader) Bikram Singh Majithia behind bars for his links with the drug mafia,” he said. “And when AAP failed to form government in Punjab, the same Kejriwal offered an unconditional apology to Majithia in court, that too on AAP letterhead. Families who have lost their sons due to drug menace will never forgive Kejriwal,” he said. Channi said that his government has not only speeded up the pace by registering a case against Majithia, but raids are also being conducted to arrest him.

He said the ‘uncle-nephew’ relationship between former chief ministers Amarinder Singh and Bikram Singh Majithia is now an open secret as the former chief minister has been issuing statements in favor of the Akali leader. At a separate event in Moga, Channi assured the people that the previous SAD-BJP coalition government in the state would be made accountable for the “betrayal” committed against Punjab and its people during its decade-long misrule. He said the people of the state have to give an explanation from the Akalis for “pushing the youth into cases of drugs, sacrilege and bringing the state to the brink of an economic disaster”. He said that it started with the registration of an FIR against former Akali minister Bikram Singh Majithia. Majithia was booked under the NDPS Act. Accusing Majithia of becoming a “brand of drugs”, Channi said the former minister would soon be put behind bars. Channi alleged that the SAD leadership was colluding with the BJP government at the Center to implement three “black” agricultural laws.

He said that Harsimrat Kaur Badal was part of the Union Cabinet, which was “important” in making these “draconian” laws and eventually she was forced to leave the cabinet in the wake of widespread anger from the people, especially farmers.
