Ludhiana: One person killed, six others injured in a bomb blast on the second floor of the city court premises Thursday afternoon in Ludhiana.
While the deceased has not been identified, the injured have been identified as 35-year-old Gurpreet Kaur, a resident of Jamalpur. Sandeep Kaur (31) Sharanjit Kaur, 32 years old, 25 years old, Jamalpur Ludhiana village Raikot Manish Kumar 50 year old advocate of police colony in jamalpur Kuldeep Singh | Mandir of Bindraban Road and Krishan Khanna (75) Step one double.
Sandeep and Sharanjit Kaur have been admitted to Civil Hospital, Manish to CMC, Kuldeep Singh and Krishna Khanna to DMC.
Ludhiana Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said the incident took place inside the public toilet on the second floor of the court complex. He said that after hearing that there was an explosion, senior officials rushed to the spot and the reasons were not immediately known as it is difficult to arrive at a conclusion.
Senior police officials said they were trying to identify the body of a suspect found at the spot. He said that it appeared that he had or was carrying or was carrying explosives but it was a preliminary finding and it could not be confirmed.
The Commissioner of Police said that the area has been evacuated and the anti-sabotage team is searching the entire premises and the bomb disposal team has also reached the spot. He said that the NSG team has also left from Delhi, apart from this, the detective personnel are investigating and CCTV is being investigated.
The District Bar Association (DBA) said that since the advocates were on strike, the crowd was less. It said the blast took place in building number one of the judicial complex.
