Punjab Guv seeks details of principals training tour to Singapore from govt, CM Mann retorts

Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit has written to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann seeking information on the selection of head teachers sent to Singapore for training.

The governor has also sought details from the chief minister on the appointment of the chairman of the Punjab Information and Communication Technology Corporation.

Reports said Governor Banwarilal Purohit has asked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to respond to his letter within a fortnight, failing which he will be forced to seek legal advice.

Purohit said in his letter, “I have received complaints regarding the selection of headmasters to be sent to Singapore for training. The complainants point out certain malpractices and illegalities in the selection of these headmasters. It is alleged that there is no transparency in ” ,

“Therefore, I request you to send me the criteria and details of the complete selection process. Please also give the details whether it was widely published all over Punjab. As per the news reports since the first batch has come back, please Give me the details of the total expenses on traveling and boarding and expenses on training.”

Hitting back at Governor Purohit, CM Bhagwant Mann said on Twitter, “…all the subjects mentioned in the letter are state subjects… I and my government are answerable to 3 crore Punjabis… and not to any Governor.” No.” appointed by the Central Government.”

“Consider this my answer,” the chief minister said in a tweet in Punjabi.
