Punjab government submits report to Home Ministry on PM security violation

  • The Punjab government submitted a report to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on the security breach during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Ferozepur. Punjab Chief Secretary Anirudh Tiwari submitted a report detailing the sequence of incidents of security breaches. The report was made after consultations with top police officials of the state, who were in charge of the prime minister’s security. Sources said additional manpower was deployed on the ground in view of the protests taking place across Punjab. Meanwhile, the government has termed the protest as “spontaneous”. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had sought a detailed report on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security breach. He had termed the violation “totally unacceptable”.
