In order to improve the weak economic condition of Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has formed a new planning board. It has been named the Economic Policy and Planning Board. It will replace the previous Punjab State Planning Board.

The chairman of the new board will be the CM. At the same time, the Finance Minister will work as the Vice Chairman. This decision is important because Punjab has a debt of 3 lakh crores. Recently, CM Bhagwant Mann went to Delhi and met PM Modi and asked for a special package of one lakh crores.

Punjab State Planning Board has been dissolved, Bhattal was the chairman
As soon as the Aam Aadmi Party government was formed in Punjab, the already running Punjab State Planning Board was dissolved. This decision was taken at the end of April. Its vice chairman was former Punjab CM Rajinder Kaur Bhattal. Those who were given cabinet rank by the government.

These will be the members in the new board
Punjab Economic Policy and Planning Board will have all the ministers and MPs of Punjab as members. Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Finance Department, Principal Secretary to CM will be its members. The Planning Secretary has been made the Member Secretary of the Board. Apart from this, 3 vice-chairmen from outside the government will also be made. The term of non-official Vice Chairman and members will be 3 years.

The new board of the Punjab government will formulate new policies for the social and economic development of the state. At the same time, the old policies will also be amended. Punjab is currently immersed in a debt of about 3 lakh crores. Therefore, this board will work as an advisor to the government to get Punjab out of the economic crisis.
