Accepting the demand of sugarcane growers, after raising the rate of sugarcane to Rs 360, the Punjab government has taken another big decision regarding the farmers. In the cabinet meeting of the state government on Thursday, it has been decided to give jobs to 104 heirs of farmers who lost their lives during the struggle against agricultural laws. Apart from this, the families of other farmers have also been asked to provide employment.

The Chief Minister has said during the virtual meeting that he wants jobs to be given to the families of all the farmers who lost their lives in the demonstrations against agricultural laws. Approval has also been given for changes in the policy framed on November 21, 2002 for government employees and those who laid down their lives fighting for the security of the country. To make it easier for the families of farmers to get jobs. To discuss this, a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary Vini Mahajan on the orders of the Chief Minister. The government is providing jobs to the family members in the goods department and agriculture department.

All 600 farmers’ families got jobs
Rajinder Singh Deep Singh Wala, leader of United Kisan Morcha and vice-president of Kirti Kisan Union, says that it can be considered as a lollipop of the government. Because till now most of the families have not received even the grant of Rs 5 lakh which was announced. The death of 600 farmers has been confirmed by the United Kisan Morcha. So all their family members should get jobs.

Farmers have been standing for 8 months against agricultural laws
Let us tell you that a demonstration was started in Delhi on 26 November last year on behalf of the farmers in protest against the agricultural laws implemented by the central government. Farmers have been fighting on different borders of Delhi for almost 8 months. So far 600 farmers have died during this period. Most of them died due to illness or in road accidents.
