As per reports, officials of the civil administration, Inspector General, Border Range, held the retreat ceremony popularly known as the flag hoisting ceremony, but the decision could not be taken till late evening.
Sources said that the flag-hoisting ceremony will either be limited to 50% capacity or 700 people will be allowed to attend, as per the directions of the district administration on the upper limit of persons in outdoor gatherings. However, the final decision will be taken on Wednesday.
The audience galleries at the Attari International Border have a capacity to accommodate about 25,000 spectators. Even if they accommodate 50% gathering in the audience galleries as per the guidelines of the state government, their numbers would be around 12,500.
Confirming the continuation of the flag hoisting ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Khaira said that the Attari flag hoisting ceremony would continue with the restrictions mentioned in the latest guidelines.
