Punjab Congress in-charge Harish Rawat has reached Delhi. He will report to the Congress high command the status of the party and the government in Punjab. Apart from this, the issue of advisors of Punjab Congress President Navjot Sidhu will also arise. Rawat had talked about meeting the high command after meeting the rebel ministers and MLAs of Punjab in Dehradun. However, Rawat had made it clear that the next elections would be fought under the leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh. At the same time, it was also said that only Navjot Sidhu has been made the party head, not given the entire Congress. For now, what will be discussed next by Harish Rawat, the eyes of Congress leaders are more than the opponents in Punjab.

Harish Rawat held a meeting in Dehradun on Wednesday with the rebel faction of Punjab Congress demanding the removal of Captain Amarinder Singh from the CM’s chair. The very next day he reached Delhi to meet the high command. The rebel faction included ministers Tript Rajinder Bajwa, Charanjit Singh Channi, Sukhjinder Randhawa and Sukhbinder Singh Sukh Sakaria, MLAs Barindermeet Paha, Surjit Dhiman and Kulbir Jeera. Rawat had said that he has expressed concerns regarding the administrative work in Punjab at the state and district level. However, Rawat had rejected the demand for change of leadership of the rebel faction. It is clear from his arrival in Delhi the very next day that all is not well in the Punjab Congress.

Rawat has shown tough stand on Sidhu’s advisors

Rawat has also shown a strong stand on the controversial statement of Sidhu’s advisors. Rawat said that Sidhu himself should remove him or else the party will remove him. In such a situation, it is clear that Rawat will also raise this issue in front of the Congress high command in Delhi. It is believed that the advisors can be removed after discussion with the high command. Sidhu has so far sat silently on the issue of advisors.
