Punjab CM Channi launches ‘Mission Clean’ to crack down on sand, drugs and liquor mafia

New DelhiPunjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi launched ‘Mission Clean’ with an aim to curb sand, drug and liquor mafia. The Chief Minister started the program in a meeting with the Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police of the State on Sunday.

In the meeting, the CM talked about taking strict action against those involved in corruption, illegal sale of liquor, sale of drugs and sand mafia. He ordered the DC and SSP to take strict action against any such mafia.

A tweet by the Chief Minister’s Office read, “Chief Minister @CharanjitChanni directed the civil and police administration of the state to launch ‘Mission Clean’ by taking strict action against drug, sand and liquor mafia besides ensuring zero tolerance for corruption. ”

The Chief Minister also directed the Mining Department that sand and gravel should be available in the market at government rates and DC and SSP have been instructed to ensure this. CM Channi directed the Mining Department to ensure that Panchayats are not charged for using sand for development works.

Ahead of Diwali, Channi asked the DC and SSP to ensure that no shopkeeper is unnecessarily disturbed during the festival season. He asked the DCs and SSPs to issue directions to the SHOs to ensure this.

They should also enjoy Diwali, the CM added.

Chief Minister Channi also issued orders to ensure that farmers do not face any difficulty in lifting soil to level their fields.

In this regard the CMO said, “Taking the matter seriously, CM Channi asked the mining, irrigation and civil and police administration to ensure that no farmer is allowed to lift soil from his land for the purpose of leveling the field.” Don’t be bothered about.”
