Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann asked residents to “remain calm” in a tweet following the killing of Sidhu Musewala. Soon after the incident, the leader took to Twitter to condemn the attack on the singer-turned-politician.
In his tweet, Mann wrote: “Shocked and deeply saddened by the horrific murder of Sidhu Musewala. No one involved will be spared. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and his fans across the world. I request everyone to stay calm. I appeal.”
Citing the tweet, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal echoed the same, urging the residents of Punjab to “remain calm and maintain peace”. Delhi CM said: “Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder is unfortunate, I have just spoken to Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. The culprits will be punished severely.”
Sidhu Musewala was shot dead in broad daylight on Sunday in Punjab’s Mansa. The Congress leader was taken to the hospital but he succumbed to his injuries. Musewala had joined the Congress in December last year.
