New Delhi: Ahead of the state elections next year, East Punjab Chief Minister amarinder Singh announced on Wednesday that he would form a new political party.
“Yes, I will form a new party. The name will be announced with the election symbol after the approval of the Election Commission. My lawyers are working on it,” he said.
On forging an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Amarinder said he had not yet spoken to the BJP or Dhindsa’s party, but would like to share the seat.
“We have many people with us, we will fight on all 117 seats, we will have a lot of Congressmen,” he said.
Fulfilled more than 90 percent of the promises during my tenure
Addressing the media in Chandigarh, Captain Amarinder Singh presented the report card of his tenure comparing the promises made in the election manifesto with the promises achieved.
He said that during the 4.5 years as the Chief Minister of Punjab, I have fulfilled more than 90 per cent of the promises made in the 2017 election manifesto.
Amarinder said, “They make fun of me about the security measures. My basic training is that of a soldier. I have been in the service for 10 years – from the period of my training till I left the army, so I know the basics.”
‘Something is going wrong in Punjab’
Amarinder said that he is not going to sound the alarm but he knows that something is wrong. It is the job of the government to sit down and bring the facts in front of the people and not deny them.
He said, “Our state has been a battlefield many times and now we have to be careful of covert warfare. BSF has come to the aid of our police like they are doing in other states. BSF is not taking anything in the state. ”
Amarinder to meet Amit Shah tomorrow
Amarinder is leaving for Delhi and is scheduled to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah tomorrow.
“Tomorrow we are taking some people with us, around 25-30 people. We will meet Amit Shah on farmers’ issue. I can’t say what will be the solution on three agriculture laws, I have already given my views. in previous meetings with him,” he said.
Will fight from Sidhu, from where he will contest elections
Meanwhile, while talking about Navjot Singh Sidhu, he said that wherever he contests elections, we will fight him.
