Punjab: Bajwa slams AAP over ‘Vijay Yatra’ | Chandigarh News – Times of India

CHANDIGARH: Referring to an RTI disclosure, leader of opposition in Punjab assembly Partap Singh Bajwa on Saturday said the expenditure of Rs 14.63 lakh incurred on March 13 on the arrangements of ‘Vijay Yatra‘ by AAP, on the government’s account even before administration of oath of office on March 17, exposed the hollowness of its much-touted claims of honesty as well as the extent of undue pressure on the officialdom.
In a tweet, Bajwa said AAP took out a ‘Vijay Yatra’ at Sri Amritsar Sahib on March 13, 2022, to celebrate its sweeping victory in the elections, he said.
Bajwa alleged that instead of spending from party funds on the event, official disclosure made by the Amritsar deputy commissioner through RTI established that lakhs of rupees were spent on lodging of the party leaders in the five-star hotel, decorations, gold-plated swords, phulkari presented to the Delhi leadership. In total, Rs 14.63 lakh was spent on that day, he said.
