This case came to the fore in village Chuhadchak of Ajitwal town of Moga. Meter reader Balwinder Singh told the owner of a house that his meter was faulty. After this he asked for a bribe of one thousand rupees. People called him after a day. Till then the photocopy of 2 notes of 500 rupees was done. Which was given to Balwinder the next day. As soon as he caught the money, people surrounded him.

When Balwinder Singh was caught, he started chewing the note. Seeing this, people put their hands in his mouth and took out the money. Its entire video was made viral on social media by the people. Which also reached the government and the company. The company admitted that Balwinder had taken a bribe of one thousand rupees. After which he was suspended.
