Two gangsters succumbed to their injuries in Punjab’s Tarn Taran jail on Sunday after a major scuffle in the Gaindwal jail premises. The officers provided this information.

The deceased have been identified as Mandeep Singh alias Toofan and Mohan Singh alias Manmohan Singh. Keshav, the third inmate of the jail, was also seriously injured in this clash. He was admitted to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in Amritsar. All three are accused in the Musewala murder case.

Toofan was arrested by the Anti-Gangster Task Force in September last year. He was also wanted in the murder of another notorious gangster Ranbir Singh in a hospital in Amritsar.

Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu Musewala, was shot dead on May 29, 2022 in Mansa district of Punjab.

The jail clash comes two days after self-styled godman Amritpal Singh, a world-renowned Sikh preacher who hit the headlines after his return from Dubai, his supporters armed with swords and weapons clashed with police and forced a siege . police station in Ajnala, which led to scuffles and injuries to several police personnel in Amritsar district.
