Four people have lost their eyesight from the eyes of Puneet Rajkumar, who left the world on 29 October. Like his mother, Puneet was also engaged in charity work. That’s why he took a pledge to donate his eyes. It was completed after his death. Puneet’s eyes were donated to Narayan Nethralaya Eye Hospital. Puneet’s father actor Rajkumar also donated his eyes.
Kannada film actor Puneeth passed away after suffering a heart attack while working out at the gym. Soon after suffering a heart attack, Puneet was admitted to Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru, but could not be saved. After the death of Puneet, all cinema halls in the state were closed and Section 144 was imposed in many areas.

Dr. Bhujang Shetty, Chairman and Managing Director, Narayana Nethralaya said that he isolated the main and deep layers of the cornea. Each eye was used to treat two patients. In which one woman and the other three men were involved.

Kannada actor Chetan wrote a post on his social media that- ‘When I went to the hospital for the last glimpse of Appu sir, a team of doctors operated and removed his eyes within 6 hours of his death. Appu sir has also donated his eyes like Dr. Rajkumar. We all should take an oath to follow the path shown by Appu sir and donate eyes in his memory. I will donate my eyes too.

Puneet’s father Rajkumar has been the icon of South. Puneet started his career as a child artist. He received the National Award for Best Child Actor for the film ‘Bettad Hoovu’. He started his career as a lead actor in the film Appu. Puneet is known for his strong performances in films like Aakash (2005), Arasu (2007), Milan (2007) and Vanshi (2008), which are his biggest commercial hits to date.

In his short life span of 46 years, Puneet was also a powerful star of philanthropy. He could not hear anything against religions. Even during the Corona epidemic, Puneet donated Rs 50 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Puneet took the responsibility of higher education of 45 schools, 26 orphanages, 16 old age homes, 19 gaushalas and 1800 orphan girls. After Puneet’s departure, actor Vishal has announced that he will take up the responsibility of educating orphan girls.
