PUNE: Most of the schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) reported very good scores in the class in the city twelfth The results were declared on Friday with more students than last year in the 90% club.
From Pranay Kundu (99.8%) Army Public School Kirkee And Bakliwal Tutorial student Soham Joshi (99.2%) preparing for IIT entrance exam was among two students from Pune who scored more than 99% marks.

This is the first time that CBSE declared the result without conducting any examination based on the alternative marking scheme.
Madhu Singh, principal of Billabong High International School, said, “CBSE results should not be considered as results without exams. This has been a landmark year where the continuous performance of the child over the three academic sessions has been considered. If this system is brought into the mainstream, it will focus more towards giving our students consistent performance rather than waiting for an exam that will certify their credentials. ”
Singh also said that the children were unaware about the current format being adopted by CBSE, so those who took their Class XI exams less seriously could lose some marks. Those who consistently perform well need not worry.
Bharti Bhagwani, principal of GG International School, said, “Uncertainty will always be there, even if the pandemic has run its course. It is up to us whether we choose to conquer or retreat. Conducting frequent exams, continuous online sessions and constant counselling, ensuring emotional connect at the most important academic moments in the lives of students was a leap of faith for all. Still, the adaptation and ensuing transformation amongst the young GGIians was even more spectacular.”
Mrinalini Bhosale, Principal, Vikhe Patil Memorial School, said, “No stone has been left unturned to ensure that the teaching-learning process goes smoothly. Students appeared in the online examination throughout the year. At the end of the academic year, there were physical pen and paper preliminary examinations of the students. The final board practical exam was also conducted with every precaution and following strict COVID-19 social distancing protocols. Bhavna Rai, Principal, Bharati Vidyapeeth English Medium School, Balewadi said that all the top five students were self-disciplined and dedicated towards their goal and made the school proud. “They were not limited to academics only, but also had equal interest in sports and co-curricular activities,” she said.
Arti Sharma, Principal, Army Public School, Kirkee said, “Irrespective of the pandemic situation, the students worked hard and surmounted all odds to make their school and parents proud.”
Damini Joshi, Principal Sanskriti SchoolSaid, “The students have once again proved themselves and performed extremely well in this unusual and unprecedented year. He wholeheartedly embraced the new system and worked exceptionally well against all odds. We are very proud of all our students who molded themselves beautifully to the new norms and their parents who supported them equally. ”
