Farmers protesting against Punjab’s Akali leader Sukhbir Badal in Hisar

On Thursday, farmers protested against Sukhbir Badal, former deputy CM of Punjab going to Delhi and head of Shiromani Akali Dal, at Hisar toll. The farmers raised slogans and showed black flags to Sukhbir Badal by stopping the convoy. The farmers were angry that the farmers were lathi-charged at the Akali Dal rally in Moga, Punjab on 2 September.

Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Badal was going to Delhi with his convoy on Thursday afternoon. When his convoy reached the Ramayana toll of Hisar, the protesting farmers there surrounded the convoy to Sukhbir Badal and started raising slogans showing black flags. The farmers protested and also closed the lane through which Sukhbir’s convoy was to pass. Due to the closure of the road, Sukhbir Badal remained stuck on the toll for a long time. During this, the farmers protested continuously raising slogans. In the midst of this uproar, the soldiers got down from the escort vehicles running with them and got the way cleared. The soldiers also had to struggle a lot to clear the way.

Farmer leader Kuldeep Kharar said that farmers protesting at Sukhbir Badal’s rally in Moga, Punjab on September 2, were lathi-charged in which many farmer brothers were injured. The Badal family, on one hand, pretends to resign from the Modi cabinet in favor of the farmers and on the other hand the Congress government of Punjab gets lathi-charged on the farmers. Angered by this, the farmers had protested against Sukhbir Badal today. According to the farmers, until Sukhbir Badal apologizes to the farmers for the lathi charge on the farmers in Moga, they will be opposed in the same way.

Opposed by mistake last time, this time by confirming

Even before this one day farmers had opposed SAD chief Sukhbir Badal on the Ramayana toll itself. However, seeing Sukhbir Badal getting down from the car, the farmers expressed their regret at the same time. At that time the farmers had said that seeing the escort vehicles etc., they felt that some leader of Haryana government was coming and in this misunderstanding they protested. He did not know that this convoy belonged to him till Sukhbir Badal came down. However, on Thursday, to fully confirm that the convoy belonged to Sukhbir Badal, the farmers protested.

Haryana Deputy CM and BJP leaders have protested

Haryana Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala, Deputy Speaker Ranbir Gangwa, Haryana BJP President Omprakash Dhankhar, MLA Jogiram Sihag, Rajya Sabha MP, farmers who have been protesting against the three new farming laws brought by the Modi government for ten months at the Ramayana toll. Ramchandra Jangra and BJP MLA Kamal Gupta have been opposed.
