Producers of Jacqueline Fernandez, Kichha Sudeepa’s Vikrant Rona turn down Rs 100 cr OTT release offer

The makers of Kannada star Kiccha Sudeepa’s ‘Vikrant Rona’ have decided to have a theatrical release as they apparently refused an offer of Rs 100 crore for their film’s OTT release. O’Micron’s fears have made theatrical performances a risky business proposition, with many filmmakers opting for OTT releases instead.

As per sources, the team recently organized a private screening for one of the biggest OTT giants. The film’s visuals are said to match Hollywood standards, with a style that has never been seen before in the Indian film industry.

Praising Kichha Sudeepa’s performance as one of the best performances in this decade, sources said the OTT major has offered up to Rs 100 crore for a direct release of ‘Vikrant Rona’ on its platform. But the film’s team has apparently said ‘no’ to this offer.

Producer Jack Manjunath said, “Yes, it is true that the offer was made, but ‘Vikrant Rona’ is a big screen experience. The scenes that I have personally seen are something that families and kids can see on the big screen. Would love to. The 3D experience is something that audiences want more of. This is a film that deserves the biggest screen in the country for a complete cinematic experience that will give audiences.”

Director Anoop Bhandari expressed his happiness on the offer, “It’s a great offering, glad the film is getting the kind of appreciation it deserves.
