The problems of Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) president and MLA from Atma Nagar assembly constituency Simarjit Singh Bains may increase. The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered that the investigation of the rape case registered against them should be expedited. If this is not the case then the investigating officer should also be changed. If the investigation is not done properly then this case can be given to CBI. Recently, the details of the cases registered against Simarjit Singh Bains have been given by the Punjab government in the court. In which it has been said that 17 criminal cases are registered against the MLA and their investigation is going on. A division bench of Justices Karmjit Singh and Rajan Gupta of the High Court has made this strict remark after this report. Judges of the High Court say that if the investigation of the case registered against the MLA is slow in this way, it is of no use. After this strict attitude of the High Court, the government has assured concrete action.

Year ago complaint, case was registered in July
A woman from the area of ​​MLA Simarjit Bains had alleged that she was having a fight with someone over the purchase and sale of the plot. Due to this she came in contact with MLA Simarjit Bains. After that she was physically abused. Despite the complaint, the case was not registered. Since then, the woman has been sitting on a dharna outside the Police Commissioner’s office for four months. On July 10, a criminal case was registered against MLA Simarjit Singh Bains and his relatives on the orders of the court. But no arrest has been made yet. On behalf of the victim, by giving a complaint to the High Court, she has also accused of favoritism.

Police is not taking action under government pressure: Victim

Shiromani Akali Dal leader and lawyer Harish Rai Dhanda says that Simarjit Singh Bains is close to the ministers and that is the reason the police action is going very loose. We have given all the evidence to the police as well as the court and demanded that Bains should be arrested. But the arrest has not been made citing the police investigation.
