City Education Minister Raj Kumar Anand on Monday said no irregularities were found in the appointment of guest teachers in Delhi government schools during an inquiry ordered by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.

No irregularities were found in the appointment of guest teachers in Delhi government schools on the orders of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. Education Minister Raj Kumar Anand said on Monday.

He said that as per the inquiry report, there was no ‘ghost teacher’ and the documents of only 109 guest teachers were ‘incomplete’.

There was no immediate reaction from the LG office.

In September 2022, the LG ordered an internal inquiry into alleged irregularities in the appointment of guest teachers in Delhi government schools and embezzlement of funds through payment of salaries to “ghost” teachers.

LG’s probe report finds nothing like ‘ghost’ teachers in Delhi government schools. Every teacher is coming to school on time and is marking biometric attendance daily. Documents of only 109 guest teachers were incomplete and they have been informed about the same.

He further said that the report did not mention any “embezzlement of funds” in payment of salaries to “ghost teachers”.

Calling teachers ghost teachers by LG is an insult to those working in this noble profession. It is also an insult to our honest administration. There are around 16,609 guest teachers in Delhi government schools. All his documents were checked and everything was fine.

Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “What can one achieve by ordering such bogus investigations and obstructing everything?”
