Pro Kabaddi League: Bengal Warriors planning a comeback after a humiliating defeat

Bottom-placed Puneri Paltan and defending champions Bengal Warriors will look to make a comeback when they take on Tamil Thalaivas and Patna Pirates on Day 10 of Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 here on Friday. Puneri Paltan, despite showing glimpses of talent through their all-rounder Aslam Inamdar, has struggled to garner points as top raider Rahul Choudhary did not get the requisite points. After the match, Patna Pirates will take on defending champions Bengal Warriors, who suffered a humiliating defeat against Dabang Delhi KC on Wednesday.

Tamil Thalaivas have been involved in two ties this season (in three matches). Coach J Uday Kumar will now have to find a way to ensure that he converts these tough games into victories. They have two lucky raiders in Manjeet and Bhavani Rajput who have impressed in the patch. But Thaliawas’s habit of losing pace in the final stages of the match has seen him award cheap points.

Captain Surjit Singh will need to marshal his defense well against Puneri Paltan’s raiding trio Aslam Inamdar, Mohit Goyat and Pankaj Mohite. The three youth coaches have been the backbone of Anup Kumar’s plans as Rahul Choudhary was not given the full 40 minutes on the mat. Puneri Paltan PKL Season 8 with one win from three matches are at the bottom of the table.

Warriors need to bounce back

Defending champions Bengal Warriors will be looking to make a comeback after a humiliating 52-35 defeat against Season 7 finalists Dabang Delhi on Wednesday. Warriors battled against Delhi raider Naveen Kumar and he could make some changes in the starting line-up against Patna Pirates.

Their defender Sachin Vittala had a particularly bad day on the mat with a poorly timed tackle, while the forever dependable Mohammad Esmail Nabibakhsh could only get three bonus points. The only positive was the performance of raiders Maninder Singh and Sukesh Hegde who garnered a total of 25 points.

With two wins from three matches, the Patna auction looked unfazed by Pradeep Narwal’s UP Yoddha move. Their raiding unit of Monu Goyat, captain Prashant Kumar Rai and Sachin should present a tough challenge to defend Bengal. In defence, the pair of Sajin C and Mohamedreza Chianeh are looking in fine form for the three-time champions.
