With the finalization of all the preparations for the proposed rally, a large contingent of Congress leaders and office bearers has reached the city.
Speaking to reporters on the eve of Priyanka’s Varanasi visit, Congress state president Ajay Kumar Lallu said, “To ensure the farmers killed by the son of a BJP leader and Union minister. Lakhimpur KheriThe party will launch an agitation in the rally, after which the party will ensure that this movement reaches every village, locality, market and assembly constituency in the state.
He claimed that the party’s agitation would continue till justice was ensured to the families of the slain farmers.
Hitting out at the BJP-led state government over the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, Lallu alleged that it was surprising that a government which ensures demolition with bulldozers and displays posters of criminals in small incidents, is talking about killing of farmers.
