actor-producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas donned his hat to fellow Indian, actor-comic Vir Das, who was nominated at the 2021 International Emmy Awards. Das was nominated in the comedy category for her Netflix Comedy Special Vir Das: For India. The acclaimed French comedy series Call My Agent Season 4 emerged the winner in this segment.
“Congratulations @virdas you make us so proud! (sic)” Priyanka wrote on her Instagram story on Tuesday, when she shared Das’s post along with her medal and participation plaque. The comedian is back home for “I Come From To India’s”, which she recently shared. as a satirical monologue in the US, as part of his US tour, which a section of the people called an insult to the country.

Earlier on Tuesday, after the conclusion of the awards ceremony in New York, Das revealed that he was nominated for Best Comedy “for a joke” at the International Emmy Awards. Praising the winning series Call My Agent as a hugely beautiful show I love, the comedian said it was an honor to represent India on the global stage.
“I was nominated for Best Comedy at the International Emmy Awards for Jokes. Call My Agent, won a hugely beautiful show I love. But I got this medal, and this scrumptious salad got a really interesting crisp. Eaten with paneer topping. It was my honor to represent my country. Many thanks to @iemmysFor India. It’s always for India. #VirDasForIndia,” the 42-year-old wrote on Instagram.
Das has received both praise and police complaints for his monologue, which he performed at the famed John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC.

Besides Das, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui was nominated for the Best Performance by an Actor category for his Netflix film Serious Men. He lost to Scottish actor David Tennant for DES. Bharat was hoping to recreate the magic in the best drama category after winning Netflix series Delhi Crime with Aarya last year. But Disney+ Hotstar The series, directed by Ram Madhvani and starring Sushmita Sen, was the best in this segment by Tehran, Israel.
