Prime Minister Narendra Modi oversaw major development works in Varanasi and said it is the government’s effort to create the best possible infrastructure for the holy city. PM Modi tweeted at 12:52 am on Tuesday, “Inspected major development works in Kashi. It is our endeavor to create best possible infrastructure for this holy city.”

PM Modi visited Banaras railway station and said that the central government is working to ensure clean, modern and passenger-friendly railway stations along with increasing rail connectivity. PM Modi tweeted at 1:23 am on Tuesday, “Next stop… Banaras station. We are working to ensure clean, modern and passenger friendly railway stations along with increasing rail connectivity.”

PM Modi was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the inspection after midnight. PM Modi was seen interacting with the locals and shaking hands of those who came to greet him. PM Modi tweeted, “Just finished a massive meeting with BJP Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers in Kashi.”

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who attended the meeting, said that the meeting lasted for six hours till late Monday night.

Sarma tweeted, “Thank you @narendramodi ji for enlightening us with your wisdom & vision for a better India during 6 hours long intense and intense deliberations.”

PM Modi is currently on a two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency Varanasi, where he on Monday inaugurated the first phase of the newly constructed Kashi Vishwanath Dham at a cost of around Rs 339 crore. On December 14, at around 3.30 pm, PM Modi will attend the 98th birth anniversary celebrations of Sadhguru Sadafaldev Vihangam Yoga Sansthan at Swarved Mahamandir.

The Prime Minister will also participate in a conference of Chief Ministers of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand along with Deputy CMs of Bihar and Nagaland. The conclave will provide an opportunity to share best practices related to governance and is in line with the Prime Minister’s vision to further the spirit of Team India.
