Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the railway line connecting Thane and Diva, a gift to the people of Mumbai – Rail Hunt

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two railway lines connecting Thane and Diva through video conference today. In a statement issued by the PMO, it was told that the Prime Minister will also flag off two suburban trains of Mumbai Suburban Railway. After this, his address will also be on this occasion. Modi will dedicate two additional railway lines connecting Thane and Diva to the nation through video conference on February 18 at 4.30 pm, the statement said.

According to the statement, Kalyan is the main junction of the Central Railway. Traffic coming from northern and southern part of the country connects at Kalyan and moves towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSTM). Of the four rail routes between Kalyan and CSTM, two tracks were used for slow local trains and two for fast local, mail express and goods trains. Two additional lines were planned to separate suburban and long distance trains.

Two additional rail lines connecting Thane and Diva have been built at a cost of about Rs 620 crore and include a 1.4 km long rail flyover, three major bridges, 21 minor bridges, the statement said. These lines will to a large extent remove the disruption in the traffic of suburban trains as well as long distance trains in Mumbai. With this, 36 new suburban trains will also be run in the city.
