The founder of Russia’s Wagner Group militia said on Friday that Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov should take responsibility for the “thousands of Wagner killed and wounded”.
“I will make sure of it,” Yevgeny Prigozhin said in a video posted online by his press service.
Hours earlier he announced that Wagner would give up the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, which he has been trying to capture for Russia since last summer, accusing the Defense Ministry of denying him needed ammunition and support.
