The President said that this award is a testimony to the services rendered by the past and present officers of the Squadron.

The year also marks fifty years since the founding of Missile Vessel Squadrons, also known as the ‘Killers’, who have maintained a credible offensive punch from sea over the past five decades.
Based in Mumbai, Missile Vessel Squadron has participated in Operation Vijay, after Operation Parakram and recently, during the tight security situation pulwama attack in 2019 It has been deployed at a considerable distance from the Pakistan coast.
