The crucial meeting of opposition parties to be held at Constitution Club on Wednesday is considered to be the most important in view of the presidential election. According to the leaders associated with the major opposition parties, the plan is that all the parties come together to form a consensus and declare the presidential candidate within the next 10 days. For this, all the opposition parties including Mamta Banerjee and Sonia Gandhi are already engaged in forming a united opinion. Several rounds of talks have also taken place in this regard with many leaders. If sources are to be believed, a prominent senior leader of the country, who reached the Rajya Sabha as an independent candidate in recent times, is also trying to unite everyone in this whole matter. However, nothing has been decided as of now whether all the parties will be of one opinion or not. But the stand of all the parties in this whole matter seems positive. In such a situation, if sources are to be believed, the presidential candidate can be announced collectively by the opposition parties within the next 10 days after the general meeting to be held on Wednesday. However, for this some prominent possible faces of different parties are also being discussed. But only the consensus formed on all these after the meeting to be held on Wednesday will be considered important.
Letter written to 22 party leaders
According to information received from Trinamool Congress, a letter has been written to 22 leaders for this meeting to be held in Delhi on June 15. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Congress President Sonia Gandhi, including Soren and Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Yadav, have been invited for the meeting to be held on Wednesday. According to the information received, the meeting was attended by CPI General Secretary D Raja and CPI General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav, Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Jayant Choudhary, former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, former PM HD Deve Gowda, PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti and National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah, including Shiromani Akali Dal’s Sukhbir Badal and Sikkim Democratic Front’s Pawan Chamling, along with NCP chief Sharad Pawar have been invited to the meeting.

The opposition has started uniting for the presidential election to be held on 18 July. Congress President Sonia Gandhi has also met other prominent leaders including Sharad Pawar, Mamta Banerjee in this regard. Sonia Gandhi said that in the interest of the country, all political parties should unite and declare a common candidate for the post of President to protect democracy. A senior Congress leader told that Sonia Gandhi has given the responsibility to Mallikarjun Kharge to coordinate in this entire matter. So that before the presidential election, all the opposition parties can come together and declare a common candidate. Congress leaders said that in the leaders whom Sonia Gandhi has met, a positive look has been seen on the common candidature for the presidential election.
Preparation for 2024 on the pretext of presidential election
Political analyst MN Vijay Kumar says that the meeting of all the major opposition parties on Wednesday is very important. He says that this meeting is not only important for the common presidential candidate but is also seen as a strong foundation for the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024. Vijay Kumar says that if people from some major NDA constituents are also included in this meeting, then surely in 2024 the opposition will be able to enter the Lok Sabha elections with a strong claim. According to sources, in this meeting to be held on Wednesday, Mamta Banerjee has also taken forward her talks with some NDA constituents. Political analysts are of the view that all major opposition parties are accepting that this is a big opportunity when all the major opposition parties can be clubbed together under the pretext of a common presidential candidate. According to the plan, even big major opposition parties are engaged in making their plans to unite the regional parties on the pretext of this meeting. In this, including the Congress party, Sharad Pawar’s NCP and Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress are currently leading. However, political experts believe that declaring a common candidate for the post of President is one thing and it is another thing for all the parties to fight the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 unitedly. Nevertheless, if there is a consensus of all political parties for a common presidency, then after this general meeting, the roadmap for taking all the major opposition parties together in the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024 will also be started.
