Apart from Uddhav Thackeray, his wife Rashmi, Shiv Sena MLA Ravindra Waiker and his wife Manisha Waiker have been made a party in the PIL.

In the midst of the political crisis in Maharashtra, CM Uddhav Thackeray has come on the target of the central investigative agencies. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kirit Somaiya has approached the Bombay High Court. He has filed a PIL against a property located in Murud taluka in Raigad in the name of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s wife. The High Court has accepted the petition. However, the date of hearing has not been fixed yet. Apart from Uddhav Thackeray, his wife Rashmi, Shiv Sena MLA Ravindra Waiker and his wife Manisha Waiker have been made a party in the PIL.

The property, questioned by Somaiya, was allegedly bought together by Manisha, wife of CM Thackeray and wife of Shiv Sena MLA Ravindra Waiker, in Murud taluka in Maharashtra’s Raigad. The BJP leader has demanded an inquiry into this property by the Environment Ministry. Apart from this, he also wants the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and other agencies to investigate the alleged ‘illegality’ done by CM Thackeray and his family in relation to the Alibaug property.

This property is being told in Murud Korlai village in Raigad district.

Accused of buying property for two crores and paying 10 lakhs
According to the petition, the controversial property, was purchased by Rashmi Thackeray and Manisha Waikar (wife of MLA Ravindra Waikar) from its owner Anvay Naik for over Rs 2 crore, of which only Rs 10 lakh was paid. According to Somaiya, “This is a gross violation of section 1961(269)ST of the Income Tax Act.”

Uddhav accused of hiding property details
In his PIL, Somaiya said that Uddhav Thackeray and MLA Ravindra Vaykar hid the construction on the property in the election affidavit and undervalued them. This is in violation of the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. Somaiya has demanded to present the investigation report before the court. Somaiya has demanded that an inquiry be conducted into the condition of the property, its construction and the mode of payment. “The property tax receipt issued by the gram panchayat establishes the existence of the structure on the land,” Somaiya said.

Kirit has also sent documents related to the purchase of land to the ED for investigation.

Violation of environmental rules during construction
Somaiya also claimed that looking at the construction on the land, it seems that no permission has been taken for it. According to Somaiya, this property has been declared in violation of the Coastal Rules. It is within 100 meters from the beach. Somaiya claimed that the alleged property falls under the area of a reserved forest and no clearance has been obtained from the environment or forest department for its construction by Rashmi Thackeray and Manisha Waikar.
