Premier League: Brentford sign keeper Alvaro Fernandez on loan from Huesca

Brentford have signed goalkeeper Alvaro Fernández from Spanish side Huesca on a one-year loan deal with the option to make the move permanent, the Premier League club said on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old, who was part of the silver medal-winning Spain team at the Tokyo Olympics, played 22 league matches for Huesca last season, keeping five clean sheets.

“Alvaro is a player of great potential, and we are very happy that he has come to our team and our goalkeeper unit. He will be here and compete every day with David Raya and Patrick Gunnarsson,” said Brentford boss Thomas Frank.

Brentford, promoted from the championship last season, defeated Arsenal in their opening Premier League game last week. They visit the Crystal Palace on Saturdays.
