However, he added that the PMC has sent personal letters to 76,490 landlords whose house taxes were pending for a long time and only 9.19% of them have come so far to deposit the tax.
The OTS scheme, which started on January 1 this year, will end on March 31.
There were 2,23,489 houses registered with Prayagraj Municipal Corporation (PMC) officials. However, PMC officials have written letters to a total of 76,490 landlords who have not deposited house tax for a long time.
PMC officials claimed that they have compiled a list of defaulters region-wise and found that over 76,000 homeowners have not paid their house tax for a period ranging from three years to 10 years.
Meanwhile, Mishra said a total of 7,034 homeowners, including 1,485 (Zone 1), 1,000 (Zone 2), 1,326 (Zone 3), 1,202 (Zone 4), 616 (Zone 5), 1,315 (Zone 6) and 90 Huh. (Zone 7) had taken advantage of the OTS scheme and were given exemption of more than Rs.5 crore.
The highest collection of taxes under OTS scheme was recorded in Zone 3 (Rs 1.67 cr) followed by Zone 5 (Rs 1.48 cr), Zone 1 (Rs 1.32 cr), Zone 6 (Rs 1.07 cr), Zone 2 (Rs 1.00 cr) was done. ) and Zone 7 (Rs 7.54 lakh).
