Pragya Singh Thakur rubbishes hike in fuel prices, says it is only Congress propaganda. India News – Times of India

Bhopal: With no respite from rising fuel and food products prices in the near future, BJP Pragya Singh, Lok Sabha member from Bhopal Thakur Controversy erupted once again when he dismissed the hike in fuel prices and blamed the Congress campaign for the outrage over inflation.
Recently, BJP cabinet minister Vishwas Sarang had courted a political controversy by accusing the former PM of Jawahar Lal NehruSpeech on inflation. The Congress said that the BJP leaders, being in the government, blame the Congress for all the problems including inflation, they should be sent to a mental hospital.
Addressing a program of Bhopal Municipal Corporation on Tuesday, Thakur said, “These people are campaigning that diesel and petrol have become expensive. This inflation is nothing but the mindset of the Congress and only propaganda.”
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was also present at the function, where he virtually inaugurated a pump house and flagged off new city buses. The BJP MP also praised Chief Minister Chouhan for introducing pollution-free vehicles in the state capital, but hit out at the Congress for its alleged absence during the Covid-19 pandemic relief work.
He alleged, “During the Corona crisis, Congress MLAs did not come to serve the public, as they would get infected with Corona, while the BJP MLAs continued to serve the people.”
There has been a sharp reaction to Thakur’s dismissal over inflation. In Madhya Pradesh, the price of petrol has gone above Rs 110 per liter in many cities, while diesel is also above Rs 100 per liter in many cities. Petrol is being sold up to Rs 112.14 per liter in Rewa, Satna, Betul, Seoni, Sheopur and Shahdol, while diesel has scored a century in Anuppur, Seoni and Shahdol. Diesel is the most expensive in Shahdol. A liter of diesel here costs Rs 100.18 as against Rs 98.61 in the state capital.
Recently, MP cabinet minister Vishwas Sarang, while blaming the Congress for inflation, said that the problem of inflation started going down on 15 August 1947 due to the mistakes of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s speech. The freedom of the country goes to anyone, it is the Nehru family. Inflation does not increase in a day or two. The country’s economy has been ruined by the mistakes of the speech that (first Prime Minister) Jawaharlal Nehru gave from the red ramparts of the fort on August 15, 1947,” Sarang had said.
Last week BJP District Katni’s president, Ramratan Payal, had even advised journalists to go to Taliban-ruled Afghanistan when asked about the high cost of fuel. “Go to Afghanistan. Petrol is Rs 50 a liter there. Go and feed yourself, there is not a single person left to fill petrol. At least there is security here,” BJP troubled by questions on fuel price hike The leader reacted.
Meanwhile, Congress has ridiculed the BJP MP’s statement regarding rising inflation. Congress state spokesperson Narendra Saluja is responsible for the floods.
