Being a psychological thriller, Bagheera was slated to release in 2022.
Finally it has been announced that Prabhu Deva’s Bagheera will witness a grand theatrical release on 3rd March this year.
Renowned choreographer-director-actor Prabhu Deva is quite excited about the release of his upcoming Tamil film Bagheera. The 49-year-old will be seen in a never seen before avatar in the Adhik Ravichandran and Suri directorial. Bagheera being a psychological thriller was supposed to release in 2022. Release dates were postponed due to various reasons. After much speculation, it has finally been announced that Prabhu Deva’s Bagheera will witness a grand theatrical release on 3rd March this year. The choreographer-turned-actor himself shared the announcement on his social media handles through the poster of the film.
“Beware March 3rd,” read the caption of the post. Prabhu Deva is shown in two different characters in the poster. In the first, he can be seen wearing a red and black bordered judo outfit and sporting long hair. The actor looks unrecognizable as he makes a horrified expression while covering his ears with his hands.
As far as his second avatar is concerned, Prabhu Deva wears the same uniform and sports the same intense expression. Apart from carrying only a hammer, the only difference is his bald head. The background of the poster gives the impression of a place engulfed in flames, which has engulfed the entire campus.
The announcement of the release date has created a stir on social media. Netizens took to the comments to express their anticipation. “Waiting for the most,” wrote one user, while another called Bagheera “the most awaited film”. Others filled the comments section with several red heart and fire emojis.
As per ETimes, Prabhu Deva will be seen portraying various characters in the upcoming film. Seven actresses have also been selected for Bagheera, Amyra Dastur, Janani Iyer, Ramya Nambeesan, Gayatri Shankar, Sanchita Shetty, Sonia Agarwal and Sakshi Agarwal. The music of the film is given by composer Ganesan Sekar. Bagheera’s first song Psycho Raja is already making its presence felt in the chartbusters.
What makes Bagheera more special is the fact that the film will mark Prabhu Deva’s completion of 27 years in the film industry. She has also been roped in for filmmaker Venu Venkatesh’s yet-to-be-released film Wolf. The film also stars Raai Lakshmi, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Srigopika and Ramesh Tilak in important roles.
