Prabhas fan dies in Andhra Pradesh, Radhe Shyam report negative: Report

South Megastar Prabhas and Pooja Hegde starrer film Radhey Shyam has knocked in theaters on 11 March. While there is a lot of excitement about the film ahead of its release, an untoward incident has also been reported from Tilak Nagar in Andhra Pradesh. According to a report in India Today, recently Ravi Teja, an ardent fan of Prabhas, died by suicide.

As per reports, Ravi was upset when the Baahubali actor’s recently released film Radhe Shyam received negative reviews and decided to take his own life. Prabhas is yet to react on his fan committing suicide.

Helmed by Radha Krishna Kumar, Radhe Shyam was in the making for almost three long years, and the film finally released in theaters on March 11 amid great expectations. After its release, Prabhas fans thronged the theaters and even celebrated the release of their favorite actor’s film. He had made cut-outs and bursting characters outside cinemas across India.

But, 24-year-old Ravi Teja, one of Prabhas’ ardent fans, saw Radhe Shyam and got disheartened by it. After the film received negative reports, he decided to end his life. It is alleged that he informed his mother about the decision as she felt that Radhe Shyam did not live up to his expectations. Police officials have registered a case and are now probing it.

The demise of Ravi Teja came as a huge shock to Prabhas fans and netizens. He was a daily wage laborer in Kurnool.

Radheshyam presents Prabhas as a palmist whose predictions are never wrong. However, things take a turn after Pooja Hegde falls in love. What follows is a tragic love story. Apart from Prabhas and Pooja Hegde, the film also stars Sachin Khedekar, Kunal Roy Kapur, Priyadarshi, Murli Sharma, Bhagyashree, Satyan and Riddhi Kumar in pivotal roles.

News18’s review of the film said, “The film lacks two essentials. At first there is no chemistry seen between Prabhas and Pooja. Their journey to fall in love is often cut abruptly to add a few comic scenes that don’t generate any laughs. Second, the love story is not clear enough. It’s no surprise that the tangled mess that goes on for more than two hours doesn’t touch anyone’s heart. There are so many meaningless scenes and characters that don’t make sense.”
